I am a student and teacher of Yoga having first stumbled across this ancient practice in 1998. I found the practices of Yoga to be of great value to my physical and mental well being. Being a young mother at that time I really appreciated that quality time for self and felt nurtured as well as replenished energetically on conclusion of each class that I attended. I felt calmer and more able to cope with the demands of parenting as well as a sense of Peace. The positive effects on my well being is what motivated me to study Yoga. in 2001 I commenced a 12 month teacher training with FINY (Friends in Yoga) in Perth and began teaching that year. Yoga has now become a way of life for me and I feel blessed to be able to share this with the people that come into my life.
My learning journey has been ongoing and over the years I have attended various workshops and retreats with other Senior teachers, as well as spending time in Yoga ashrams over east & India. As part of my own ongoing personal development and learning I recently completed a 2 Year diploma in Yoga (2016) at the Academy of Yoga Science in NSW which covered all aspects of Yoga.
Yoga although often seen as a form of exercise offers a wide range of practices which include Mantra, Philosophy as well as specific breathing & meditation techniques which all serve to develop and integrate all aspects of the personality. I have had the opportunity to teach Yoga in various settings from the work place, local hall, Gyms, in Primary and High schools, Rec centres, residential private one on ones and in the Women’s prison.
I offer classical Hatha Yoga classes at the Mundaring Wellness Centre for all levels of ability as well as run courses for beginners and Yoga days. Sharing the gift of Yoga with the community and connecting with people from all walks of life is for me an honour and a blessing. I look forward to meeting and welcoming you into one of my classes soon.
