Group Sound Journey by The Sound Project    You cannot explain Sound Journey in a linear fashion, with rational words, because Sound Journey is not a linear or rational experience. You can say, yes, there was a Gong, a Sound Bowl, a Monochord, an Ocean drum, but to name the instruments is as meaningful as describing a Van Gogh by the colours of paint. It is not a concert, although there is sound and rhythm. It is not a meditation, although you sink into altered states. It is not even a performance because there is no true audience; each person in the room is an integral part of the experience. It is, and is not, a ceremony. Perhaps the most accurate word, if we must use one, it is a journey; initiated in the oldest sense, by the extraordinary, consciousness-altering magic of sound. It is an emotional-spiritual letting go; a diving deep into the Beauty inside. Just allow the gentle flowing sounds and vibrations to immerse you in a feeling of harmony and calm. Hatha Yoga with Harishakti Improve your health, well-being & develop an awareness of spirit through the ancient practises of Hatha yoga. This classical style of yoga works on many levels physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually bringing strength and suppleness to mind and body. In its pure form it is a process of purification which works to balance and harmonise the polar energies so as to prepare one for deep states of meditation where one could experience Samadhi (bliss) union with the divine. Classes with Harishakti are non-competitive and suitable for all levels and focus on the development of inner well-being through the practice of Asana (postures) Pranayama (breathing techniques) Mantra (sacred sound) and relaxation/ meditation techniques to calm and still the mind. Harishakti attended her first Yoga class in 1998 and felt the benefits of yoga instantly - the calmness she felt along with the physical benefits led her to want to learn more. She completed a teacher training course with Friends in Yoga (Finy) in 2001 and has been teaching for over a decade. Her classes are influenced mostly by the Satyananda system of Yoga but she has tried various other styles of Yoga such as Iyengar, and has attended classes with many other teachers of which have all had their own unique way in teaching. Kundalini Transformative Yoga Therapy with GURURAJ KAUR Certified Kundalini Yoga Instructor (as taught by Yogi Bhajan). Kundalini Yoga is one of the most powerful styles of yoga. It supports us to become physically, emotionally and mentally resilient by developing a strong nervous system, a healthy glandular and a resilient immune system so that we embrace a life full of confidence. Elke Zielke came to Australia from Germany in 2006. Tai Chi for Arthritis and Osteoporosis The movements of the Tai Chi for Arthritis and Osteoporosis programs have been specifically designed to be safe and effective for people with arthritis and osteoporosis, and are also suitable for a range of other health conditions. The Tai Chi for Arthritis program was created in 1977 by Dr Paul Lam with a team of tai chi and medical experts and is currently taught worldwide, recently being recognised by the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States. The slow movements prevent injury, build muscle strength and calm the mind. The program includes qigong practices, gentle movements with the breath which aid relaxation. The movements are easily modified to accommodate most health conditions, and all the movements can be done seated or standing. Teresa Stokes is a qualified Tai Chi for Arthritis instructor working with Arthritis & Osteoporosis WA. She has been practising Tai Chi for Arthritis for 14 years and teaching for the past 6 years. Teresa adapts movements for individuals, and creates a safe, welcoming and fun environment where participants can learn at their own pace. Tribal Style Bellydance (ATS®) with Raven American Tribal Style Bellydance® is an improvised form of dance, that has it’s roots in the more traditional style.  Classes are held in a relaxed, non-competitive environment with the emphasis on fun and laughter as you learn. It is an opportunity to deeply connect to the strength of the feminine spirit, the empowerment, beauty and grace that is inherent in this style. Beginners, intermediate and advanced classes in pure ATS are conducted at Mundaring Wellness Centre. All classes are kept relatively small to ensure quality teaching and learning. Intakes for beginners are continuous. Terms are in 6 week blocks with one week off in between each block. Fees are $102 per term, which works out to be $17 per class. Fees are paid on or by the first day of term, although if you are just starting you may pay as you go for the first 3 classes to try it and see if you like it then pay the balance of the term on the 4th class. An option to pay term fees in two instalments is available by arrangement if required.  A casual rate of $20 per class exists if you will be absent for any classes within a term or just want to experience one or two classes.
